A housing project included in the Local Housing Planning document (Pla Local d’Habitatge), designed as a unifying building within the urban space to provide different relationships and connections. The building combines mixed-use, housing, facilities for residents, internal and external common areas, as well as a small space for the wider community of Sant Feliu de Llobregat. One of the main targets is to deliver comfortable, convenient and quality residential units.
The building has been designed taking its surroundings into special consideration: two very close-by green spaces, one on each side of the lineal Europa Park, and another landscaped area in the building’s internal courtyard. A contextually friendly project, but also one that maximises the topography and the gradient of Marquès de Monistrol Street creating a double height floor, one of which is more public, where access, a small facility for the community and an underground parking space can be found, while the other is more private, where the residential units are located. The first floor provides common and private terraces that maximise the public-private transversal connection. The building includes a ground and four upper floors (GF+4).
The project makes the best use of the perimeter façade, avoiding the resemblance of a barrier. To do so, a building with a folding façade and descending height, creating common terraces on the third and fourth floors has been conceived. The façade’s setbacks provide panoramic views, daylight and privacy.
A building clad in a thermal skin that, together with other environmental strategies, will achieve an EPC rating A.
