The Werfen Tower is part of a complex of commercial buildings located in Plaça Europa, which together with Fira 2 pavilions of Barcelona have become the new financial centre of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

The project consists of refurbishing the existing building to the needs of the occupying company. Furthermore, a site management and a financial control plan have also been undertaken to ensure that the delivery schedule and the initial budget are met.

The access hall to the building has been established in line with the number of people daily entering the building via the control areas located on the ground floor. Reception and its associated support areas and waiting areas complete the functional brief of this level. One of the floors accommodates a conference room for 60 people, fitted with audio-visual systems. Also on this floor, two working areas have been conceived to be flexible in order to adapt the use of the large room to different needs. The cafeteria floor, located at mid-height, offers a comfortable space and meeting point to encourage staff communication.

The typical floors have been designed with different layouts in accordance with the needs of each department: some areas are completely open while others are more compartmentalised. Offices have been located at the building’s perimeter freeing up the central area for other activities. One of the requirements was to incorporate a new service lift in one of the existing services core of the building that serves all the floors, including basement -1. Storage space, new accesses and security areas have been added to the two basement floors. Services have been added to the uppermost floor, improving the original services. It should be noted that two 48-hour standby generators have been installed.
