Parc Nou, El Prat social housing
I. Description
The urban plan gives these buildings a distinctive character by placing them on a freestanding corner facing Parc Nou and endowing them with considerable height. The project seeks to take advantage of this singular condition of scale and public presence to transcend the purely domestic nature of a residential building, hybridizing its identity through its scale and its relationship with the surrounding context.

The proposal is conceived through two layers of subtraction. The first, at an urban scale, reduces the maximum length of the volumes defined by the planning regulations, or even omits certain parts of the buildable mass. The second, at an architectural scale, fragments the presence of the built fronts, creating a more nuanced and permeable composition.
Finally, this configuration ensures that each housing unit benefits from façade openings, placing—where possible—living rooms at the corners with access to balconies. These corner conditions enhance diagonal views, avoid direct frontal perspectives, and promote cross ventilation.
